Ever find yourself caught in the relentless cycle of self-doubt? You know, that feeling that no matter how much you achieve, it’s never enough?
Girl, I've been there too so let’s dive into some powerful (and easy) strategies to overcome self-doubt so that you can truly start believing in yourself. The last point I've written has to be my favourite, so make sure you stick around and read right through the end!
1. Keep a Success Journal
Journal is perfect for this)... You can purchase this journal here
Get another journal where you ONLY jot down your successes and moments of pride.
On those days when self-doubt creeps in (because we know it's bound to happen), flip through the pages of your success journal and remind yourself of everything you've achieved! You'll be surprised how good it feels when you read back on how far you've come.
2. Challenge Negative Thoughts
Self-doubt often stems from negative self-talk. When you catch yourself thinking, “I’m not doing enough or I'm going to fail,” I dare you to challenge that thought. If you're a girly of faith, rebuke those demons in your head girl (because that's exactly what they are). Ask yourself, “What evidence do I have that proves I actually AM doing enough?” or repeat "On behalf of Jesus Christ, I rebuke these demons in my head - you're not welcomed here".
I sometimes doubt my efforts with MADE. When this starts to happen, I look at my customer feedback, customer repurchase rate and the brand’s growth which reassures me of my success! I also pray a lot and put all my trust in God, I'd be insulting Him if I didn't trust the path he has me on...
3. Surround Yourself with Support
Surround yourself with people who uplift and inspire you... and get rid of the ones that don't because they ARE stunting your growth and holding you back. Share your goals and struggles with friends or mentors who you trust and who can offer encouragement. Having a support network will remind you that you’re not alone in your journey and that others believe in your potential—even when you don’t.
4. Focus on Your Growth
Instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on your own growth and progress. The best advice I can give is to stop comparing and start admiring. I look up to a lot of boss babes and rather than compare myself, I try to learn from them and I admire their journey!
Everyone’s journey is unique, and comparing yourself to others can fuel A LOT of self-doubt. Reflect on how much you’ve grown (go back to that journal I mentioned above) and set your sights on your own path rather than the paths of others. You got this girl!
5. Practice Self-Compassion
Be kind to yourself. Recognize that it’s okay to have doubts and make mistakes. Take breaks when your body is begging for it, you don't want to have a burnout.
Treat yourself with the same compassion you’d offer a friend in a similar situation. Remember, self-compassion is key to building resilience and self-belief.
6. Visualize Your Success
Visualize your goals and the success you want to achieve. Imagine yourself overcoming challenges and celebrating your achievements! Visualization can be a powerful tool to boost your confidence and keep you motivated. Here's a Youtube video you can watch to teach yourself how to visualize!
7. Celebrate Your Wins
It’s so easy to brush off our achievements and move on to the next challenge. But take a moment to pause and celebrate your successes, big or small. For me, starting MADE and juggling it with my career as a realtor is a testament to my dedication and hard work. If you’re like me, sometimes you need to take a step back and recognize your accomplishments. Treat yourself to a little celebration—because you deserve it!
Alright girls, there you have it... remember, you’re not alone in this journey. Even those who seem to have it all together face moments of self-doubt (hello). By applying these strategies and acknowledging your accomplishments, you’ll start to build a stronger belief in yourself. So go on now, embrace your achievements, treat yourself and keep shining girl!
Let's stay inspired together because we're made for more!
