Gut Health 101
It may surprise you, but your skin’s health and your gut health are closely connected. This “gut-skin axis” means that a balanced gut microbiome can play a major role in reducing skin inflammation, acne, and even signs of aging.
When the gut is out of balance—whether from stress, processed foods, or environmental factors—it can lead to something called “leaky gut.” This condition allows toxins to escape into the bloodstream, which can cause skin issues like redness, irritation, and even eczema flare-ups. By supporting the gut with fibre, hydration, and probiotics, you create a healthier internal environment that’s reflected in glowing, clear skin.
To get started, focus on a diet rich in whole foods, leafy greens, and healthy fats like those found in avocados, nuts, and olive oil. Hydration is also key to keeping both your gut and skin happy. When your gut thrives, your skin will thank you!
